How to Transfer Crypto from Binance to OKX: Choosing the Network, Fees, Timing and Fixing Mistakes
On this page
Moving coins between Binance and OKX is common: a campaign on one side, better funding rates on the other, or P2P-bought USDT you want to use elsewhere. The transfer is simple, but the wrong network or a missing memo is the most common way people lose coins. The example below sends USDT from Binance to OKX; the reverse works exactly the same way.
Step by step
- Get the deposit address on OKX: Assets → Deposit → USDT, choose a deposit network (for example TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, Solana), and copy the address.
- Start a withdrawal on Binance: Assets → Withdraw → USDT, paste the OKX address.
- Pick the same network: the Binance withdrawal network must match the network you chose on OKX. Binance often detects valid networks from the address format, but check yourself.
- Check the memo/tag: USDT normally doesn't need one, but coins such as XRP, XLM, TON and EOS show both an address and a memo on OKX — fill in both.
- Check the fee and amount received: the withdrawal page shows the network fee and minimum withdrawal.
- Pass the security checks, submit, and wait for confirmations.
- On OKX, the funds land in the Funding account; transfer them to the Trading account before trading.
Choosing a network
| Factor | What to consider |
|---|---|
| Supported on both | Only networks both exchanges support for deposits and withdrawals |
| Fee | Network fees can differ by an order of magnitude — see the Binance withdrawal page |
| Speed | Congested chains confirm slowly, and exchanges sometimes suspend a network |
| Amount | Larger transfers favour reliability, small ones the fee |
For most small USDT transfers, choose a cheap network that both support and that isn't under maintenance.
Pre-transfer checklist
- Same coin: USDT to a USDT address, never a different asset.
- Same network: withdrawal network = deposit network.
- Full address: after pasting, check the first and last characters — clipboard malware exists.
- Memo filled in for coins that need one.
- Test with a small amount the first time you use a new address.
- If you use a withdrawal whitelist, add the OKX address first.
How long it takes
Usually a few minutes to half an hour: Binance reviews the withdrawal (normally fast), the chain confirms it, and OKX credits it after enough confirmations. Congestion, manual review of large amounts or maintenance can take longer. Find the transaction hash (TxID) in your Binance withdrawal history and check it on the chain's block explorer.
If something went wrong
- Wrong network: if both exchanges support it but it didn't match the deposit address, OKX support can sometimes recover it, possibly for a fee — and sometimes not.
- Missing memo: contact support on the receiving exchange (OKX) with the TxID, address and amount to request a manual credit.
- Sent to an unsupported coin or contract address: recovery is very difficult.
- Never trust "technicians" who offer to recover funds — only use official support.
