OKX Fees Explained: Spot and Futures Maker/Taker Rates and Fee Tiers (2026)
On this page
OKX charges trading fees by maker/taker and by user tier. The regular-user rates below follow the OKX fee page (last checked 2026-10-02).
Regular-user rates
| Product | Maker | Taker |
|---|---|---|
| Spot | 0.08% | 0.1% |
| USDT-margined perpetuals | 0.02% | 0.05% |
A maker order rests on the book; a taker order fills immediately. Unlike Binance, OKX spot currently has no exchange-token discount comparable to paying with BNB, so savings come from maker orders and tiers.
How fees are calculated
Fee = trade value × fee rate
Spot example: a taker buy of 1,000 USDT of ETH costs 1,000 × 0.1%, deducted from the ETH you receive.
Futures example: 500 USDT of margin at 20× leverage is a 10,000 USDT position. Fees are charged on that position value on both open and close: 10,000 × 0.05% each time as taker. High leverage amplifies fees, and frequent trading adds up quickly.
The fee calculator compares your monthly fees on OKX and Binance.
User levels and VIP
OKX sets regular-user levels and VIP tiers by assets and 30-day trading volume, with spot and futures assessed separately; higher tiers pay less. The exact thresholds are on the OKX fee page. For most individuals, raising the share of maker orders saves more than chasing VIP.
How to pay less
- Use limit (maker) orders when you don't need an instant fill.
- Avoid high-frequency futures trading: fees are charged on position value, so high leverage plus frequent trades is the biggest cost.
- Sign up with a referral code: some referral programmes return part of the invitee's fees, as shown on the sign-up page — see the OKX sign-up guide.
- Watch fee promotions: OKX runs listing competitions and fee offers from time to time; live ones are on the OKX page.
Easy-to-miss costs
- Withdrawal fees vary by coin and network — compare before sending; see how to transfer from Binance to OKX.
- Convert builds its cost into the quoted spread.
- Funding: holding a perpetual through settlement pays or receives funding, and OKX and Binance can differ a lot for the same coin — see the funding rate table.
- Borrowing interest: margin trading or multi-currency margin borrowing accrues hourly interest.
